Our daily beginner lessons are all about new surfers. 95% of the people we teach every summer are first timers and we understand those butterflies, they usually don't stick around for too long! We start our lessons in the sand with theory and technique and then move to waist deep water for the first part of the in-water instruction. Surfing can be taught and learned in shallow depths with mellow waves, we won't ever push you further than you're comfortable going. The majority of our students are completely comfortable surfing on their own after the lesson is over.
During the off-season, a few of our staff dedicated themselves to constructing a surfing course that was longer than the industry standard. We've created an incredible 4 hours of surfing and material for fist time surfers looking to exhilarate their learning path. Ocean Playground strives to provide top quality surf instruction in Nova Scotia and like all of our programs, instructors for this course hold a minimum ISA Surf Level 1.
